In 1877, this venture between the two was considered one of the greatest cattle operations in the world. This property is characterized by large elevation changes, canyon views and wildlife - deer, turkey, and wild pigs to name a few. Turkey Creek - named because of the number of turkeys that roosted along its banks and subsequently gave rise to the name of the nearby settlement Turkey Roost and later Turkey, Texas - runs through this property.
