Welcome to 65 Lakeside! A cleared canal-front lot in Original Bayou Vista with the wood bulkhead already in, incredible sunset views across the street, and the marsh and open water of the Galveston Bay system just past the end of the canal. No HOA, and Airbnb rentals are allowed. Flip through for the aerials, the canal and the lot at ground level.
Incredible sunset views across the street! The lots over there are vacant, so the sky stays wide open at the end of the day. Picture this from the deck of your future build.
The lot outlined from above. It sits a few lots from the end of Lakeside Drive with the canal along the back; follow it out for quick access to Jones Bay and the Galveston Bay system. Newer homes on both sides.
Side angle from above. The lot sits between two newer raised homes, with the canal along the back and Lakeside Drive out front. At 4,161 square feet, it is a cleared waterfront site with the wood bulkhead already in place.
Straight down on the whole lot. A mature Canary Island date palm toward the water, two Sabal palms at the street, open grass between them, the canal on the right and Lakeside Drive on the left. Electric, gas, cable and phone are available, and water comes from Galveston County MUD 12, so the utilities are ready when you are!
Looking down Lakeside with the lot in the foreground. It sits a few lots from the end of the street, right near the spot where Lakeside curves, which is what gives this end of the road its open, roomy feel.
Same stretch, slightly different angle, so you can see how the canal runs behind every home here. A boat can tie up right out back, and the open water is a short idle away. Louis' Bait Camp & Restaurant is about 0.4 miles away for bait on the way out and supper on the way back.
Here the curve in Lakeside Drive is easy to see. The lot sits just down from where the street bends, and the vacant lots across the street keep the view in front of it wide open today.
Pull back and the whole picture comes together: canal, marsh and open water past the last row of homes. Galveston is about 8 miles away across the causeway, and Houston is about an hour up I-45.
From out over the canal looking back at the lot. Wood bulkhead across the back, a home on each side, and the water right at the back door of your future vacation home!
A little farther down the canal. The lot is cleared, with newer construction on both sides, and ready for a build in the same raised style you see all around it.
Right at the bulkhead, the water is steps from where your back porch would sit. Fish, launch a kayak or tie up the boat. Mac McGaffey Highland Bayou Park, about 2.1 miles away, has a kayak launch and fishing spots when you want a change of scenery.
East-facing canal front, so this side catches the morning sun and the sunsets land across the street. Quick run out to Jones Bay for fishing or crabbing!
Angled overhead with the lot centered between its neighbors. Both homes beside it are recent builds. No HOA!
Along the canal looking down Lakeside Drive, with the lot at the bottom of the frame. The canal runs out toward the bay, so open water is close. Harborwalk Bait Shop is about 2.6 miles away.
Above the street side. Clean frontage on Lakeside Drive with the neighbors' driveways on either side, leaving room to lay out a drive and parking under the house.
Low over the water. The Canary Island date palm and the grass come together here, and you can see how close the canal is to where a back deck could sit.
Pulled back over the canals. Bayou Vista was built along dredged canals that reach Galveston Bay and the Gulf, and from up here you can see exactly how the water threads through the neighborhood.
One step farther back. Lower Lakeside Drive is a mix of newer raised homes, docks and boat lifts, with the bay just past the last canal. Bayou Vista's city pool and park are about 0.8 miles away.
Out across the canals to the open bay beyond. You can see how little stands between the lot and open water! The Texas City Dike is about 6.6 miles away.
Marsh and open water in the distance are the Galveston Bay system, which is the draw out here. Airbnb rentals are allowed, so a vacation home can double as a rental when you're not using it.
Wide over the neighborhood with the lot highlighted. Original Bayou Vista is unincorporated, with fewer permitting regulations than inside a city. No HOA!
One more wide aerial: canals, rooftops and the bay beyond. Galveston Island State Park is about 9.0 miles away for beach days, and Moody Gardens is about 6.9.
Across the street looking back at the lot and the canal behind it. The ground across Lakeside is open right now, so the sunset views stay open too.
A second look from the street side. The outline shows the full lot, canal at the back and Lakeside Drive at the front. H-E-B and Kroger in Texas City are about 4.7 miles away for the weekly run.
Street-side aerial with newer homes on both sides of the lot, so you would be building into an established stretch of lower Lakeside.
On the ground now! Two tall Sabal palms stand at the front of the lot and a full Canary Island date palm anchors the back, a nice head start on landscaping. The rest is cleared grass all the way to the water. Taxes on the lot were $1,419 in 2026.
Looking across the lot toward the neighbor's raised home. This gives you a feel for scale and how the homes along here sit with living space up top and parking below. Build the same way and you would have canal views from every room up high.
Standing at the bulkhead looking down the canal. Docks and homes line the far side, and the water runs out toward the bay. Launch from your own backyard and be fishing in minutes!
The lot from the front, with the Canary Island date palm at the back and a raised home next door. Room for a driveway and parking under a raised home of your own.
Across the cleared lot toward the neighbors. Smokin' Z's BBQ is about 0.4 miles away, and Bayou Bistro and Bar is about 0.5, so supper is always close.
Canal view along the bulkhead, with homes and docks across the way. Quick run out to the bay! Tiki Island Tavern is about 3.1 miles away for a cold drink after.
Lakeside Drive out front, with the lot's two Sabal palms joining the palms down the street and open ground across the road where the sunsets show up. Easy to picture your front porch here!
